Ship Your Car
to Hawaii — Done Right.
Fixed all-inclusive pricing from day one. One coordinator from pickup to terminal release. Zero surprises on either coast.
Price Locked at Booking
Your quote covers everything — overland, port fees, ocean freight, coordination. What we quote is what you pay.
One Coordinator
Same person, start to finish. No agents, no queues, no repeating yourself at every step of the move.
Hawaii-Based & Operated
We know these terminals from the inside. Not a mainland broker guessing at island logistics from a call center.
- The Process
How Shipping to Hawaii Actually Works
Most companies make this more complicated than it is. Here’s what actually happens — no jargon.
Real-time vessel tracking
From the moment your car boards
Get Your Fixed All-Inclusive Quote
Fill out the form or call us. We calculate your complete price — overland pickup, port fees, ocean freight, all of it — and send it to you in writing. No follow-up charges.
We Lock Your Vessel & Plan the Timeline
Your deposit locks the sailing date and your price. We then work backward from the vessel cutoff to schedule overland pickup — so your car never misses the window.
Carrier Picks Up Your Vehicle
A licensed carrier collects your car from your home, office, or dealership anywhere in the continental US. We confirm every step — pickup time, driver info, estimated port arrival.
Your Car Crosses the Pacific
The vehicle boards an enclosed Matson or Pasha vessel at Long Beach or Oakland. You track the ocean crossing in real time with your booking number.
USDA Inspection & Terminal Release
At the destination terminal, your vehicle goes through a USDA APHIS inspection — typically a few minutes for a clean car. We notify you the moment it clears and walk you through exactly what to bring for pickup.
Choose Your Shipping Route
Every route includes fixed pricing and one dedicated coordinator. The difference is where you hand over the keys.

What You Need to Know Before Your Car Ships
We walk every customer through this at booking. Here’s what the terminals require — and what catches people off guard.
Fuel at quarter tank or less
This is a safety requirement at the port — not a recommendation. Vehicles above the limit will be refused until drained.
Remove all personal items
Nothing can be shipped inside the vehicle — not in the trunk, glove compartment, or back seat. Any items found will delay or prevent boarding.
Wash the exterior, especially the undercarriage
The USDA inspection at the Hawaii terminal checks for soil, plant material, and pests. A dirty undercarriage causes delays and potential quarantine fees.
Have your title or lender authorization
You need the title (or a payoff letter from your lender), current registration, and your photo ID. For financed vehicles, your lender must authorize the shipment in writing.
Insurance Coverage Explained
Every vehicle we move overland is covered to $100,000. Ocean coverage is based on the declared value on the Dock Receipt — we walk you through how to declare full market value so you're not underinsured if something happens at sea.
- Most brokers don't explain this. We do — before you sign anything.
Electric Vehicles — Read This First
Matson currently does not accept full battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) for ocean shipping to Hawaii. Pasha Hawaii may accept qualifying EVs under certain conditions — contact us before booking so we can confirm eligibility for your specific vehicle. Standard non-plug-in hybrids ship without restriction on both carriers.
- EV eligibility varies by carrier and vehicle. Always confirm with us before purchasing or committing to a shipment.
Classic Cars & High-Value Vehicles
We arrange fully enclosed overland carriers for collector cars and luxury vehicles. Unlike most brokers, we explain declared value ocean coverage in detail — because your $80K classic shouldn't sail with a $1,500 default coverage cap.
How Long Does It Actually Take?
Timeline depends on where your vehicle is coming from. Here's what to expect for each origin region — all times are for Oahu. Neighbor islands add 10–14 days.
California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada
Short overland leg to Long Beach or Oakland — 2 to 5 days. Ocean crossing 12 to 14 days. Total door-to-terminal approximately 14 to 20 days.
Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Utah, New Mexico
Overland transit 4 to 7 days to the West Coast port. Ocean crossing 12 to 14 days. Total door-to-terminal approximately 18 to 24 days.
Illinois, Ohio, Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri
Overland transit 5 to 9 days to port. Ocean crossing 12 to 14 days. Total door-to-terminal approximately 20 to 26 days.
New York, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Massachusetts
